Brandy Norwood is making her return to the horror genre with her starring role in the highly anticipated A24 film ‘The Front Room,’ for which the trailer recently dropped.
Directed by Max and Sam Eggers, the movie marks the directorial debut of the brothers, who are renowned for their work on their brother Robert Eggers’ acclaimed films ‘The Witch’ and ‘The Lighthouse’.
Brandy as Belinda in ‘The Front Room’/ A24
Based on the short story by Susan Hill, ‘The Front Room’ follows a young, newly pregnant couple who are compelled to take in an ailing, estranged stepmother. Brandy plays the role of Belinda, the expectant mother, who finds herself in conflict with her mother-in-law, portrayed by Kathryn Hunter (‘Poor Things’). The film also features Andrew Burnap and Neal Huff.
Brandy, known for her soulful vocals and iconic roles in ‘Moesha’, ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’, and the 1997 television adaptation of ‘Cinderella’, has previously appeared in horror films. However, it has been nearly 20 years since her last appearance in the genre, making her return all the more exciting.’
