Netflix has released a teaser trailer for the second season of its futuristic cyberpunk series Altered Carbon, adapted from a book of the same name by Richard K. Morgan. The trailer finds Anthony Mackie taking over the role of Takeshi Kovacs from Joel Kinnaman. In season one as a former soldier and revolt of sorts, Kovacs is expected to solve a murder. Although solving the murder may appear to be the focus of the season, Kovacs unwavering connection to Quellcrist Falconer (Renee Elise Goldsberry) is an important element in Altered Carbon’s first season.
Alongside Renee Elise Goldsberry, Chris Conner, and Will Yun Lee will also be returning for season two. Joining the cast are Lela Loren (Power), as Danica Harlan, Simone Missick (All Rise) as Trepp, Dina Shihibi (Daredevil) as Dig 301, Torben Liebrecht (Operation Finale) as Colonel Ivan Carrera and James Santo as Tanaseda Hideki.
Produced by Skydance Television the 8-episode second season Laeta Kalogridis and Alison Schapker will act as both co-showrunners and executive producers. Other executive producers include David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Marcy Ross, and James Middleton.
Kavocs navigating a ghost story in season 2, it will start streaming on Netflix on February 27th. Watch the trailer above.
