The Soul Train Awards is heading to New York this year. The highly anticipated ceremony will be presented on the legendary stage of the Apollo theater. These pillars in Black entertainment look to team up, making a monumental day in American history.

This year, the awards show is looking to honor the best in music – highlighting soul, hip-hop, and R&B. Viewers can tune in on BET and BET Her, November 28, at 8 p.m Eastern and Pacific time. BET has produced the show since 2009, and until recently, the show was taped in Las Vegas.

On a national level, Soul Train highlighted Black culture for over 50 years; each week, the show would highlight the latest trends rising from an underrepresented community. New talent would be broadcasted into the homes across America, bringing a sense of unity.

Voiceofalexandria.com captured thoughts from Apollo executive producer Kamilah Forbes. She said, “The Apollo is thrilled to partner with BET to host the ‘Soul Train Awards,’ bringing together three iconic brands that represent Black culture and excellence under one roof.”

The Apollo is known to have a truthful audience, forging the best artists to see themselves rise to the top. Soul Train is known to keep the party going. The two are now creating an unforgettable memory in the collective community, a pivotal moment that will be cherished through the ages.
