Kandi Burruss, known for her roles in ‘The Chi’ and ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta,’ has joined the cast of Hulu’s hit legal drama ‘Reasonable Doubt’ for its second season.

Burruss will play Eboni Phillips, who is described as “the mother of JT’s child, Natasha.” She is also a recurring character in the series.

‘Reasonable Doubt,’ which is produced by Onyx Collective, follows the story of Jax Stewart, played by Emayatzy Corinealdi, a brilliant and fearless defense attorney in Los Angeles. The show explores the complexities of Jax’s personal and professional life as she navigates the justice system and her own moral code.

Burruss herself expressed her excitement about joining the cast in a statement. “I’m thrilled to be a part of ‘Reasonable Doubt’ and to work with such a talented cast and crew,” she said. “Eboni Phillips is a complex and interesting character, and I’m looking forward to bringing her to life on screen.”

The second season of Reasonable Doubt will premiere on August 22, 2024, with Burruss’s character expected to make her debut in the first few episodes.

The show’s creator, Raamla Mohamed, praised Burruss’s casting, saying, “Kandi is an incredible talent, and we’re so lucky to have her join our cast. She brings a unique energy and depth to the role of Eboni Phillips, and I can’t wait for audiences to see her in action.”
