It is a whole new world, indeed! The first full-length trailer for Disney's live-action Aladdin dropped on Tuesday.
The plot centers on street urchin Aladdin (Mena Massoud), beautiful and courageous Princess Jasmine (Naomi Scott), very blue Genie (Will Smith), and the evil Jafar (Marwan Kenzari). The two-minute and fourteen-second clip gives us a closer look at Smith's Genie, whose initial reveal triggered mixed reaction on social media. The trailer also reveals some of the iconic original songs that will be featured.
The live-action remake is written by John August and directed by Guy Ritchie.
This is a busy year for Disney. The studio has other highly-anticipated adaptations set for release, including as Tim Burton’s Dumbo (March 29) and Jon Favreau’s The Lion King (July 19).
Aladdin will open in theaters on May 24.
