Taylor Polidore Williams is adding to her team. The Beauty in Black star has signed with ColorCreative, the management and production company Issa Rae co-founded, for representation in all areas. She continues to be represented by Innovative and Del Shaw Moonves.
Williams has become one of the breakout faces of Tyler Perry's Netflix universe. In Beauty in Black, she plays Kimmie, a Chicago strip-club dancer whose life gets tangled up with Mallory, the powerful head of a hair-care empire played by Crystle Stewart. The drama aired the back half of its second season earlier this year and has already been renewed through Season 4, giving Williams a steady showcase to build on.
She is not slowing down there. Up next, Williams takes on a season-long arc on Hulu and Onyx Collective's Reasonable Doubt, moving from one of the most-watched Black-led dramas on Netflix to another on Hulu.
The ColorCreative signing puts her inside a company built specifically to champion talent that Hollywood has historically overlooked. Since its founding, the shingle has made a point of backing writers, directors, and actors from underrepresented backgrounds, so pairing it with a rising star like Williams fits the brand on both sides.
