OWN network has confirmed that the Tennessee-based megachurch drama will conclude after five seasons. This comes as a surprise to many especially because Greenleaf delivered good numbers this past season. According to Deadline, “the show has been the No. 1 scripted show on cable among black viewers and averaged 1.1 million viewers in Season 4.”

The show is produced for OWN by Lionsgate and executive produced by Winfrey, Wright and Clement Virgo.
