Hulu answered the question fans have been sitting with since the spring. The Reasonable Doubt Season 4 trailer dropped today, and it clears up the Season 3 finale cliffhanger by confirming who took the bullet. Monica shot Jax.
That resolves the moment the show left dangling. In the final beats of Season 3, a vengeful Monica, played by Brandee Evans, turned up at Jax Stewart's new firm and fired a gun, and the show cut away before revealing whether anyone was hit. The new trailer settles it, showing Jax, played by Emayatzy Corinealdi, hospitalized and fighting to recover as the season opens.
A Firm and a Family Under Fire
From there the trailer lays out the stakes. Jax comes back to a life shaken on both sides, her family rattled and her newly minted law firm, The Stewart Firm, staring down a fight for survival. A high-profile new case pulls the firm into a spiraling media disaster, and the footage frames the whole season as a test of whether Jax can rebuild before the pressure buries everything she has put her name on.
Morris Chestnut returns as Corey Cash, while Meagan Good and Durrell "Tank" Babbs step up as series regulars, with Babbs playing wealthy R&B artist and longtime client Eric Cropper. La La Anthony joins as Melina Cropper, and Taylor Polidore Williams takes on a season-long arc. Joseph Sikora is back too.

Created by Raamla Mohamed and executive produced by Kerry Washington under the Onyx Collective banner, Reasonable Doubt has been one of Hulu's most reliable Black-led dramas. Season 4 premieres October 6 with three episodes, followed by a new episode every Tuesday.
