Paramount+ just gave fans their first look at Season 3 of Lioness, and Zoe Saldana is clearly not slowing down. The streaming platform released a teaser for the next chapter of Taylor Sheridan's espionage drama, confirming an August 2 premiere date.

Saldana returns as Joe, the fierce operative she's brought to life since the series debuted in 2023. This time around, things are getting closer to home. According to the official synopsis, Season 3 will weave together hidden networks, foreign operatives, and personal betrayals as Joe tries to balance national security with threats in her own life. The new footage hints at a mission that's less about distant enemies and more about the people standing right next to her.

A Stacked Cast Holding It Down

The ensemble returning alongside Saldana is nothing short of impressive. Nicole Kidman is back as Kaitlyn Meade, Michael Kelly reprises his role as Byron Westfield, and Morgan Freeman returns for another round. The cast also includes LaMonica Garrett, Genesis Rodriguez, Hannah Love Lanier, Laysla De Oliveira, Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, James Jordan, Austin Hebert, Jonah Wharton, Thad Luckinbill, and Ian Bohen.

From Breakout Hit to Flagship Series

Lioness became one of Paramount+'s most-watched original series almost immediately after its 2023 debut. Inspired by a real U.S. military program, the show follows a team running undercover operations to infiltrate dangerous organizations. It found its audience through a sharp mix of action, intelligence work, and layered character storytelling, a combination Sheridan has made his signature across multiple franchises.

Sheridan created and writes the series, and he also executive produces alongside Saldana, Kidman, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Michael Friedman, Jill Wagner, David Lemanowicz, Geyer Kosinski, and Keith Cox.

Saldana has been on an extraordinary run. Between her work in the Avatar franchise, her Golden Globe-winning turn in Emilia Perez, and the continued success of Lioness, she's operating at a level that very few actors in Hollywood can match right now. And with Season 3 promising higher emotional stakes than ever, this next chapter could be the one that cements Lioness as appointment television.

Lioness Season 3 premieres August 2 exclusively on Paramount+. Seasons 1 and 2 are streaming now.
