‘The Equalizer’: Queen Latifah fights crime in newly released teaser

She is “the one you call when you can’t call 9-1-1”

The first look at CBS’ reimagining of the 1980s crime drama series The Equalizer starring Queen Latifah is here!

The teaser, which dropped on Saturday (Jan. 16), unveils the secret life of Latifah’s character, Robyn McCall, a single mother and a former CIA agent.

The cast of the upcoming series also includes Lorraine Toussaint as Viola “Aunt Vi” Marsette, Tory Kittles as Det. Marcus Dante, Adam Goldberg as Harry Keshegian, Liza Lapira as Melody Bayani, and Laya DeLeon Hayes as Delilah.

The Equalizer premieres Feb. 7 on CBS after the Super Bowl.

Jesse Williams To Exit ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ After 12 Seasons

Jesse Williams will not be returning to Grey’s Anatomy after this season.

The actor who portrays the handsome surgeon Jackson Avery has starred in the medical drama since 2009. He originally joined as recurring and was promoted to a series regular in season 7.

“I will forever be grateful for the boundless opportunities provided me by Shonda [Rhimes], the network, studio, fellow castmates, our incredible crew, Krista [Vernoff], Ellen [Pompeo], and Debbie [Allen],” Williams said in a statement to Deadline.

“As an actor, director and person, I have been obscenely lucky to learn so much from so many, and I thank our beautiful fans, who breathe so much energy and appreciation into our shared worlds.”

“Jesse Williams is an extraordinary artist and activist. Watching his evolution these past 11 years both on screen and off has been a true gift,” Grey’s Anatomy executive producer/showrunner Krista Vernoff said in a statement. “Jesse brings so much heart, such depth of care, and so much intelligence to his work. We will miss Jesse terribly, and we will miss Jackson Avery — played to perfection for so many years.”

The news about the actor exiting the show came during Thursday’s (May 6) episode. Williams’ final episode, titled “Tradition,” is set to air on May 20.

‘Ginny and Georgia’ Renewed for Season 2 at Netflix

The streaming giant has renewed the series for a 10-episode Season 2

On Monday, Netflix announced the renewal of its coming-of-age dramedy series Ginny and Georgia.

The series, which stars Brianne Howey as unconventional single mom Georgia and Antonia Gentry as her teenage daughter, Ginny, follows their move as they attempt to start fresh in the small city of Wellsbury. The first season landed on the streaming platform in late February. 

Season 2 will have 10 sixty-minute episodes and pick up after the cliffhanger ending that saw Ginny and her younger brother Austin leave on Georgia’s old motorcycle after discovering more of their mother’s secrets.

Cush Jumbo and Delroy Lindo To Guest Star in ‘The Good Fight’ Season 5 Premiere

Cush Jumbo and Delroy Lindo will appear as guest stars to close out their original roles in The Good Fight season 5 premiere.

In previous announcements, both actors stated that they would not be returning for Season 5 of the Paramount+ law drama.

As a result of Covid-19 production shutdowns, filming for season 4 was cut short by 3 episodes. Neither actor was able to close out the story of their respective characters as intended.

With effective planning and rescheduling, the new season premiere will properly wrap up the storylines of Lucca (Jumbo) and Adrian (Lindo).

The Good Fight stars Christine Baranski, Sarah Steele, Nyambi Nyambi, Michael Boatman, Zach Grenier, John Larroquette and Audra McDonald.

The series is produced by CBS Studios in association with Scott Free Productions and King Size Productions. The Good Fight is distributed worldwide by ViacomCBS Global Distribution Group.

Filming is currently underway in New York.
